Shut off power to the oven, disconnect the flat ribbon connector from the electronic oven control board and then restore electrical power. First you need to check the sensor, disconnect power, pull the range or oven out then take off the back cover. Once off, you should see the two small wires that are from the sensor disconnect them (some have a plug but if you have to cut the wires). If this fault code cannot be cancelled, replace the oven control (also called clock or ERC), touch pad, or both.

That could be the wiring or the sensor or the control board.Sensors are cheaper than control boards.F5 is the GE oven fault code for a failure in the control board.

I have annother ERC board but I don't want to install it if there could be another problem that needs to be fixed first or if in fact I received two Disconnecting Ribbon Cable from control and waiting at least 32 seconds to see if Code recurs If code recurs, problem is in the control. Problem is allot of wires will need to be disconnected and then you would need to remember how to put everything back together (not an easy thing to do if you If you don’t find any loose connections, I would recommend changing the sensor even if it checks good cause it could be intermitting.
