I dropped my canon powershot SD800IS in the middle of my european vacation. It seems that many of the Fuji cameras suffer from this zoom error problem so maybe a change of brand is in order. Lens error's are a potential problems for all digital cameras with a telescopic lens. Then turn it off and on again and again.

I recently encountered a Lens error, reset camera with my Canon A630. This was extreemely useful! Loading... Take a picture and view it on your computer using a card reader.

Using a blow-dryer didn't work and neither did changing the batteries. hit the lens 3 or 4 times gentle-hard. I tried the trigger and slide method but while the error message went away the zoom wouldn't focus. I guess it's because I have a silicone covering for the camera that while it protects it from scratches, it doesn't help with the dust particles.

It comes out than goes back in when powering up and when I press the zoom buttons. I didn't think it would. They're relatively easy to reseat. I keep using my powerful central vacuum hose to vacuum any dirt or debris from the lenses and actually pull the camera lenses out slowly by suction air.

I don't believe that it will be worth the expensive of having it repaired, so before I bought a new one I thought I'd try operating. Hopefully you won't have to take it that far. Also, I do not recommend probing too deeply around the lens barrel with the paper (don't go more than a 1 cm or 1/2 in) . Carefully Scrape the dirt off with a small clean brush or even a screwdriver and re-assemble the camera. WHEWW!!!
