failed to start network endpoint error message Griffin, Indiana

Docker member thaJeztah commented Jun 6, 2016 We've seen this in situations where a daemon was not shutdown cleanly, but I don't recall if there were other situations. And then, why is there this broken state? I managed to work around this problem using the steps @JMesser81 mentioned previously, but with less steps required Note this is happening to the below docker version Client: Version: 1.12.0 API But actually that's not really the problem: since I have to intervene by hand, I'm as good as deleting the consul cluster and restarting it.

Terms Privacy Security Status Help You can't perform that action at this time. Reading the messages again I see @aboch suggested that it might be the --cluster-advertise parameter. This seemed to be a known issue with Windows containers on Windows server TP5. How to get this substring on bash script?

I had the docker host VM turned off for some time, then fired it back up and couldn't launch any containers, getting the same error message above. Cannot docker build & run image. nschoe commented Jul 28, 2016 @mavenugo thanks for commenting :-) Yeah I'm sorry too, but hey, I know this is pretty complex setup and Docker is still young. Thanks ---update--- Well..

So I'm really stuck because I don't know what to do :/ I have checked in /var/lib/docker/containers but there is no directory whose name is the hash of the non-existing container What worries me too, is that it was a graceful shutdown, run with reboot, what will it be when the kernel panics, or the machine crashes so hards that it has To answer your questions further above: PS C:\> Get-VMSwitch Name SwitchType NetAdapterInterfaceDescription ---- ---------- ------------------------------ nat PS C:\> Get-NetNat Name : H43c5c620-1874-400a-b96a-a67ff532230c ExternalIPInterfaceAddressPrefix : InternalIPInterfaceAddressPrefix : IcmpQueryTimeout : 30 TcpEstablishedConnectionTimeout Already have an account?

When trying to see the logs, nothing seems anormal: docker logs cont1 [email protected]:/# exit It seems to have exited gracefully on host restart. This is the address of our dockerized consul client.

The only solution here is to log on the remote server running the consul server (which has not crashed of course), run docker-compose down -v to delete the persistent volume, and CharlieNZ commented May 31, 2016 Both commands return nothing JMesser81 commented May 31, 2016 What is the IP address assigned to your container host? there is no consul cluster running on the host (just to be clear). I'd suggest that it is removed from docker documentation, because reading it, running the consul agent in a container looks like a good idea, which is not really :/ I'm currently

What's the log file you need? I have tried several times creating my stacks, stopping the daemon and restarting it, and the container restarted. sitano commented Aug 4, 2016 • edited @bornemann it depends on exact version docker and windows version. Docker member thaJeztah commented Jul 28, 2016 Running those services in a container is a known problem; same with (e.g.) a container that is used for collecting logs.

I have confirmed that I could indeed query the remote cluster server I have configured my local docker daemon with --cluster-store=, i.e. Please follow the procedure here and then email logs to me. The interesting line is the --cluster-store=consul:// which instructs the docker daemon to contact the consul cluster. I can run docker network disconnect , it doesn't return an error, but then when I run docker network inspect it is still marked as connected!

TP5 is 14300, but 14393 is needed, also on Windows 2016. Sometimes the code is returned by a function deep in the stack and far removed from your code that is handling the error.
