If this node doesn't need a wallet you could also configure with --disable-wallet since then you wouldn't need db_cxx. Enable coredumps and the next time the crash occurs, a core file will be dump, which can be examined with gdb. How can I debug it further? If so, are there useful backtraces available? Dashd should not crash under intermittent network condition. I haven't personally tried this but according to the docs there should be no dependency on bdb when configured with this option.
