For some strange reason I can't send email to one person to whom I've written before. You could do that by clicking Right Mouse on the Eudora Icon on the desktop and selecting Run as Administrator.

Click the checkbox to Run this program as an administratorThen run Eudora again.Thanks,J. However having done so the folders still show the 'read only' box with a tick (check) mark, albeit greyed out, even when they are empty folders (!), and I get the The super, duper easy fix was to create a folder named c:\Program Files (compatibility). Do an internet search for this (such as <"access is denied" > or <"error accessing file">.

Regards, Mike Green I did it to the C:/Windows/Temp folder (and also the C:/Temp folder but from what you say this may be irrelevant).. C:\Users\*.tmp: Access is denied.  Cause: No such file or directory exists (2)  Eudora AND FOUND THESE POSTS. Please let me know. I've tried all sensible compatibility mode options for starting Eudora and the problem persists.

I am considering moving off Eudora though, to Outlook 2007, eeeoww. I'm not blind or oblivious to it's flaws: Win 7 is far from perfect (ahem, that's why we're here in this forum after all, right?).

Peac » Fri, 02 Dec 2005 10:40:13 Thanks. I installed Eudora 7 to my new windows 7 64 bit machine and it seems to work fine.

May sound like a dumb question but I'm not sure how I could do an install. Well ,  I am using more than 15 years Eudora but Penelope has slow progress and almost hate outlook and  windows mail.   Any choice ?  Any recommendation ? Peac » Sat, 03 Dec 2005 22:14:33 That didn't work. Information posted by me in these forums is provided "As-Is" with no warranties or rights conferred.

Core duo? BTW, I thought the Seinfeld ads were at least creative in a dorky and goofy way and I thought the irreverence and Gates self deprecation was a little refreshing. By the way, I am running Windows 7 HPE x64 on a reasonably recent HP AMD-based Pavilion laptop. WinXP uses C:\Do***ents and Settings\{user name}\temp by default, (or something close to that) not c:\windows\temp.

Having the temp directory in that location is probably not a good idea, especially not in this case, where you need to share it.
