On Ubuntu, 32bit support on 64bit systems feels much more brittle. thanks! I'm seeing the same problem with wrong version (64 bit) of libgvfsdbus.so attempted to be loaded by Thunderbird 3.1.6-9. the folders /usr/bin/firefox and /usr/lib/firefox are links to the previous folder u just renamed. I believe the config.rpath file might be the culprit, however I don't know much about how this library builds. However, all the current patch seems to do is tell gdk-pixbuf to look for a /usr/lib/gdk-pixbuf-2.0/2.10.0/loader.cache.32 (which should have a list of all the 32-bit modules).
