fix disc error playstation 2 Molina, Colorado

My PS is having these problems as well, and i've clean my laser 1,000 times and it never worked, so i hope turning the gear works. christi (#2468) July 1st, 2006 Thanks so much. Jordan (#2412) May 26th, 2006 Hey i got a free ps2 the other day which read nothing at all and i adjusted the laser angle cog. If you don’t have one, or like me, don’t have one that fits, you can put a flathead screwdriver in at an angle and get the gear to move.

I have the eight screw version. Some of the older PS2’s struggle to read PS2 games on dual-layered discs. Cheers to all, and curse the lousy cheap sony snieders who sell us this shite. It didn’t work.

and for all the people who have the scph30003 model, its done almost the same but dont give up because its well possible. I've chosen Army of Darkness, Final Fantasy Tactics, GTA: Vice City, and Contra. Turns out all you have to do is loosen the right rail, turn the head over and the single screw for the gear is right there. (i.e. Anmelden Teilen Mehr Melden Möchtest du dieses Video melden?

Wish I had known this before I purchased new copies of some of my kids games because I figured the problem was with their discs, not the laser adjustment terd (#2208) While this trick definitely worked for me, it doesn't work for everyone.

At first a Maxwell lens cleaner was enough to do the trick, but eventually I was suffering from “Disc Read Errors” on virtually every disc I put in. any ideas.rob1101is the disk a defferent color than the standard siver. Why do some games work while others don't? any ideas?

Flip the laser unit over after you’ve pulled it out, and there will be two capacitor trimmers labeled “CD” and “DVD”. Lester (#2487) July 6th, 2006 I took that metalic tape off of my ps2 that connect the swith on/off and open close…how to i reattach it Dat (#2491) July 6th, 2006 or can I just follow your instruction.

After cleaning for about half an hour, my PS2, which I was ready to pawn, is not only reading the games I was having trouble with, but it loads them before as for having the playstation on its side, i've been doing that for over a year. I have a model SCPH-50001. Sony claims that these things can scratch the PS2's laser, but this is simply not true.

Mark (#2356) April 22nd, 2006 Wow!!! and when i play certain games like naruto 3, the playstation 2 logo appears and then it does nothing until i got mad? I was in full panic mode because my Ps2 had been working just fine for 6 years. what is wrong with it is that is burned up or just torn up and it is not able to slide when the drill-bit-like-shaft spins.

I’ve no problems at all out of the 50001 until earlier this week. its NCAA 2006 and i want to play the damn thing… what is wrong i was thinking it was the optical eye or somthing.. After the cover is removed, the top of the disc drive is revealed. I’ve had some experience with electronics, but for anyone who is considering this, it’s a breeze! (Just make sure you have a tiny (and I mean tiny like for fixing eye

I’m assuming that u already have the system open and unplugged.) Undo the two screws that hold the controller ports carefully, and place them in a safe place. There seems to be a small cylinder part that sticks up, and to the right side of the cog is a metal stopper that keeps the “clicking” in place. Some people have never had a problem with this game, other people have never been able to load it. Grab your PS2, a normal-size Phillips and a flathead screwdriver, a small or jeweler's size Phillips screwdriver, a can of compressed air, and one each of (if you own any): a
