fatal error in mpi_comm_size Kittredge, Colorado

my notebook. (just to prototype before I run on a proper cluster) * O/S: Redhat Fedora Core 1, Kernel 2.4.22 * Compiler: Intel Fortran Compiler for linux 8.0 * MPI: MPICH2 Best Regards, Jiajun From: David Strubbe Date: 2013-11-02 01:37 To: jiajunren0522 CC: octopus-users at tddft.org Subject: Re: [Octopus-users] Problems in parallel compliation The Makefile contains little or no useful information. In the mail-list it said that it has the same problem with Intel compiler of version 11, but not 10.1. So I systematically stripped down 'example1.f' in stages, recompling & running each time, trying to achieve a working program, eliminating potential bugs & rebuild it from there. Any > environment variables changed by the installation of a new compiler? If you can help, then I have a more detailed account of whats going on below, Any advice would be most gratefully appreciated, Clint Joung Postdoctoral Research Associate, Department of Chemical This time I add some other libraries, like blacs, scalapack and pfft.

You can still navigate around this archive, but know that no new mails have been added to it since July of 2016. The proof is here : > MPI_Comm_rank(105): MPI_Comm_rank(comm=0x5b, rank=0x7fbfffc898) failed We see here that comm=0x5b is 91, the value of MPI_COMM_WORLD in MPICH-1-like includes. Still I am getting the problem. shizheng wen Re: [SIESTA-L] cannot run in parallel. mpd.host can be kept anywhere you like. Also, check the mpicc command with >> the -show argument I suggested and check the paths. The only different from before is that we use the newer version of Linux--Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.3。 Is it that siesta has some problem with the mpich2-1.0.8?

The same!. I'll get more explicit >>> version info (OFED and MVAPICH2) if you tell me what and where >>> to look. >> >> That's the information we were looking for. I want to port this code to a new Intel Xeon quadcores cluster on which we do not have pgf90 but Intel compilers, MKL and ICT When I try to execute

Most likely you are using mpi.h from mpich-1 and link with mpich2 library. Just a little strange, I install >> > the system and ifort and mkl all the same as before, but it just >> > cannot run any more. >> > I And I have used it to compile Octopus without blacs and scalapack library succesfully. In MPICH-2-like includes, MPI_COMM_WORLD is 0x44000000.

You should use MPI wrappers, i.e mpicc/mpif90..., provided by your chosen MPI implementation. If that doesn't work, maybe your MPICH2 installation is just bad. P.S. Marcos Veríssimo Alves Re: [SIESTA-L] cannot run in... For me the problem did not solve yet. >> Anyone experienced with the compiling could you give a favour please? >> It just strange that cannot run in parallel any more.

What MPI implementation? However, one >>> designator is "mvapich2-0.9.8-12". A quick way to confirm it thought would be to remove (or move) you /usr/include/mpi.h which is interfering.
