I didn't know you had to format a new card - do you? Log in or Sign up Fuji X Forum What's New? And some cards, it seems, are just plain bad! Took some pictures recently and after a while the camera (a Finepix s602 Zoom) came up with the read error.

Probably the card but you should find out when you use the new one. Looking at the error code in the manual it says 1. "The memory card is not formatted for use in the camera" 2. "the memory card is damaged" 3. "incompatible memory My message is the "?Read Error" one which, again according to the manual, means that it is a camera fault, which sounds a lot more serious. The camera seems fine when reading it's own internal memory - think it's the SD or the camera?

Good luck! I took the card out of the camera, put it into the SD Card reader and put it into my PC. Use the right arrow to get the "options" menu, use the up arrow (zoom in button) to select "set-up", press "menu/ok".
