When you have the wrong network type select, your device may not be able to choose the right network and you may end up seeing a SIM error on your device. dAViP J. This will always fail at startup (not while running) but if it does manage to read the SIM then it will continue OK until the next reboot. When your phone restarts, it refreshes most of the software which in turn ensures that minor errors can be resolved by it.
