Mine was missing a few gears compared to yours, but I was able to get it to stop skipping by taking out the thingy-mah-jig! the sony adaptor works well on my home stereo. Lol.

permalink I had the same problem I have a 96 Ford Explorer and I bought the radioshack tape adapter and it kept giving me errors and switching sides on me. Maybe try cleaning the adapter. When I try and eject the tape it gives me an "error 2". The cassette player will eject the tape.
